Alongside her band The Prawn Stars\, Fanny has “established herself as one of the\ngenre's most esteemed performers” (The Australian)\, honing her craft in hundreds of halls on her\nannual ‘Country Halls Tour’\, all the way to her first UK show; a packed-out Avalon Stage at\nGlastonbury. \nIn 2023\, Fanny released her 4th studio album Hey Dawn which took out the ARIA for Best Country\nAlbum presented by Dolly Parton\, was nominated for the AMP (Mercury Prize equivalent)\, took out\nthe CMAA Golden Guitar for Alt Country Album of the Year (with 3 other nominations) and won Best\nIndependent Country Album at the AIR (Australian Independent Record Labels Assoc). Hey Dawn\ndebuted at number 1 on the ARIA Australian Album charts and in the top 10 global ARIA charts\, and\nwent on to hold the number 1 Australian Country spot for 5 weeks\, being the 4th highest selling\ncountry album for 2023. \nHey Dawn gained high praise including 4 stars in Rolling Stone Magazine and was claimed as being\n“unique and timeless” (Capital News)\, a “triumph” (Women in Pop) and cemented Fanny as\n“undoubtedly the brightest new country star of this era” (Capital News). Featuring standout tracks\nincluding the “breathtaking” (Rolling Stone) opening track Hey Dawn\, the country radio top ten and\nCMT #1 hit Millionaire\, and fast fan favourites When I Die and Ugly Flowers. \nHaving grown up on a sheep and cropping farm and spending most of her time touring regional\nAustralia in a caravan\, Fanny’s songs are born of the red dirt\, the snowy mountains\, and all the people\nin between. She’s a farmer\, a volunteer firefighter\, a highly acclaimed singer songwriter with her 2020\nalbum Fallow also taking out the ARIA Award and the AIR Award for Country Album of the Year\, and\n5x CMAA Golden Guitars\, including Album of the Year and Female Artist of the Year. Fallow was also\nshortlisted for the prestigious Australian Music Prize Top 9 Australian Albums (2020) and topped\nthings off with an APRA award nomination for one of the Top 5 most played country songs in 2021 for\nDig. \nAn artist who is dedicated to playing live and connecting with audiences\, Fanny has toured with the\nlikes of Paul Kelly\, Kasey Chambers and more\, played major festivals such as Glastonbury\, Port Fairy\nFolk Festival\, and the main stage at Byron Bay Bluesfest\, amongst others.
