SUMMARY:LIVE MUSIC: BRÒG
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 18th November: 7:30PM - 10PM\n \nFiery tunes and beautiful songs from the Scots tradition by three of Scotland’s finest musicians. \nBrÒg features legendary piper Gary West on pipes\, whistles\, vocals and guitar; virtuoso fiddler Greg Borland on fiddle and bass\, and the sensational Sandy Brechin on accordion. Gary West currently plays with the famous Atholl Highlanders\, is the presenter of the podcast ‘Enjoy Your Piping’\, ex Ceolbeg\, Caledon and Clan Alba. Greg Borland plays with Other Roads\, Burach\, ex Caledon and the Kathryn Tickell Band. Sandy Brechin plays with The Jimi Shandrix Experience\, The Sandy Brechin Band\, Burach\, ex-Seelyhoo and a host of other bands. \n \n“What a night at Irvine Folk Club. My kind of music. Excellent musicians – could have listened to it all night – nearly did – we ran past time but it was well worth it. Gary West has the kind of voice you can hear every word (makes a difference) and his pipes haunting. Sandy’s accordion playing superb and his wit!! and Gregor – what a fiddler. A very talented threesome. Thoroughly enjoyed the night.” – Irvine Folk Club \n  \n

SUMMARY:LIVE MUSIC: Dave Arcari + special guest Ismo Haavisto
DESCRIPTION:A double bill of blues\, Americana and roots music featuring Dave Arcari (Scotland) and Ismo Haavisto (Finland). \nTickets: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/dave-arcari-special-guest-ismo-haavisto-arrochar-tickets-712552101517 \n  \nDAVE ARCARI \nSlide guitarist & songwriter Dave Arcari's alt.blues sounds owe as much to trash country\, punk and rockabilly as they do pre-war Delta blues and have been showcased via seven internationally-acclaimed solo album releases on labels including Buzz (UK)\, Dixiefrog (France) and Blue North (Finland). \nAfter a successful Kickstarter campaign his latest album Devil May Care is set for release on red vinyl in November 2023. \nA top three finalist in UK Blues Federation's UK Blues Awards 2023 Arcari's music features in numerous BBC TV programmes as well as popular USA series The Deadliest Catch. \nWhile continuing to build his audience in the USA with once or twice-annual tours since 2013 – including official showcases at SxSW in Austin\, Texas – Arcari maintains his presence on the UK and European touring and festival circuits with regular live shows throughout the year. \nThe ultimate validation for Arcari's music and performance came in 2019 when National Reso-Phonic Guitars launched the 'Dave Arcari signature model' guitar. Arcari joins an elite and exclusive group of players who have signature models and is the first – and only – musician outside the USA to be honoured by the iconic instrument maker whose name is synonymous with the development of the blues genre. \nMore info at https://www.davearcari.com \n  \nISMO HAAVISTO \nIsmo Haavisto is a professional blues artist from Lahti\, Finland who is at the pinnacle of his 30-years-plus career playing blues and blues-based music. His music and performance comes from deep down in his soul and he has earned a reputation as an accomplished.singer\, harmonica player\, guitarist and songwriter. He has released ten albums – nine of which feature mostly his own songs. \nAs well as original material\, Ismo's live set includes his own versions of some classics off the genre. \nHe tours regularly both as a one man band and with a band/trio – not just his native Finland but also the USA\, Scotland\, Spain\, Germany\, France\, Denmark\, Estonia\, Lithuania and Latvia. \nMore info at https://www.ismohaavisto.com
